So it's official. Two Steps From Hell is my favourite musical composer ever.

Also, slightly more important: I've finished university. Entirely. I'm waiting back on one exam mark before I can work out my total grade but I heard it's calculated using both Year 2 and Year 3 marks, and since the seven out of eight modules I've got from those are in a 2:1 grade, I predict a viable overall 2:1 for my degree, which I am quite chuffed with personally.

I've also moved home from London and boy is that a change in both good ways and bad. I can't believe it's almost been a year since my last journal. I wonder if anyone missed me. That's a point, I haven't been on Tumblr in ages either. Gah, my forgetful memory.

Videogames that are coming out that interest me:

> KRATER came out recently, it is a squad-based RTS set in post-apocalypse Sweden; haven't had a chance to play yet.

> Quantum Conundrum comes out tomorrow, it seems to be a cross between Portal and ... well, I guess there isn't any other game whose core gameplay derives from jumping between parallel universes, is there?

> Hitman Absolution is due out in November, though we get the pre-order Sniper Challenge business on PC in August. Frankly, I'm not at all bothered either way with the Nuns with Guns trailer. Yes, it's Hitman killing a bunch of sexualised women. When HASN'T he done that? I'm more concerned about how that nun got an entire rocket launcher into her habit. Yes, everyone's going on about the anti-feminism and I bring up problems with my suspension of disbelief.

I recently built my first desktop computer and it is a beast. Shortly afterwards I acquired a vast quantity of games on Steam and my collection is ever-increasing. I still have yet to play Velvet Assassin, that's downloading now.  I've finished both storylines on Saints Row The Third, and playing co-op with certain of my friends.  I bought and finished Arkham City twice, once on Xbox, once on PC.  I occasionally boot it up just to fly around and beat the shit out of dudes.  Driver: SF has been a bit of a letdown so I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. Max Payne 3 on the other hand, I have played a little of, and attempted to buy for myself. It just crashes on startup for me, so I'm more than annoyed at having paid £30 and sat through a 30GB download for a nonfunctioning game.

Having a desktop beast means I can also now play all the games my laptop couldn't handle before, such as Skyrim, Crysis (on max settings), Anno 2070, Magicka, Mass Effect and Just Cause.  My computer cost £850-ish to build and my dad was kind enough to order all the parts for it.

I'm trying to find some work at the moment, applied for an apprenticeship at the local council; the pay is minimal (less than the national minimum wage) but the qualifications at the end of the year would be invaluable in finding new work afterwards.

And the last point. Boyfriend. It's not the boy I fell in love with a year ago, but it is someone I have bonded with over the last two years and we are both immensely geeky and nerdy and pretty much in love. He's so special. <3

So, a lot's happened since I was last on DevArt properly.

I've met up with the indubitably excellent for a start. A lovely fellow, full of both trivia AND actually useful bits of information, a great person to be around, cheerful, optimistic and generally alike to me in a lot of ways.

I've been reading a lot more, and writing a lot too! I picked up a good book on photoshop techniques at an independent bookstore, I've been wandering around London acquiring junk from Freecycle, building with Lego, sleeping a whole bunch and definitely f*cking up my sleep pattern.  I also fell in love and am pining for the dear boy who's stolen my heart.  So I'm kinda depressed, but I'm concentrating my focus on a myriad of things to keep me from getting hung up on it.

I'll be on DevArt a lot more from now on, probably.  I say 'probably' because I don't remember to check very often.

It's just been a while.

In the last few months, things have been happening for me; moving into a house in London pretty high on that list.  Since moving in, every time I've remembered DA I've seen how many messages I have, gone "JEEEEESUS" and thought "Yeah, I don't have time to sort through this today" and forgotten about it again.

Now I had the time, so I'm writing a journal entry to let you know I'm still alive.

So, what are people doing for Halloween this year? I'm going out dressed as Agent Smith.  Got the suit, hair (I've had another haircut), earpiece, glasses, shiny shoes, even got the voice if I can remember Weaving's lines.  It's going to be a lot of fun, I'm thinking.

As it happens, I am currently engaged in writing an espionage-themed sitcom drama and a novel set in a Film Noir version of Blade Runner- the former possibly for filming, and the latter for university coursework.

I haven't been on here in a while, have I? Layout's all updatified and bizarre to look at. I'm having trouble finding my way around a site I knew perfectly well before. XD
